Journalist Eddie Brock and symbiote partner-in-crime Venom are lying low in Mexico City, on the run for the apparent murder of detective Patrick Mulligan. The cop and his bonded entity, Toxin, are actually alive at the Imperium symbiote containment programme, beneath the Area 51 US Air Force facility in the Nevada desert. Knull, the symbiotes' immortal creator, dispatches hunters to locate Venom's hidden power source, the Codex, which can set Knull free to terrorise the multiverse.
