Fern witnesses the castration of a Bengal cat, and meets Amy the golden retriever and her devoted owner ahead of surgery to remove a lump from the dog's mouth. Later, 12-week-old Labrador retriever puppy Tassie is brought in for a vaccination, and returning canine patients Mono and Marley visit James for their one-year boosters.
